Consequences.... I am always telling our athletes to be aware of the consequences of their actions. If they work on their shot, the consequence should be a better shot. If we are calling people names on social media sites or posting inappropriate pictures the consequence should be....
If it happens during school hours the students have the ability to take a screen shot of whatever picture or statement was made and can share that with the counselor and the appropriate action can be taken.
My question is what is the parents role in this? We parents need to be proactive instead of reactive. Kids are going to be kids... blah, blah, blah and at times do stupid things. As parents we need to hold our kids to higher standards. Know what aps or social medias are being used. Dictate to them what appropriate social media behavior is. What are the standards to be held to? How they are being used. It's ok to tell your kid to delete whatever statement, picture or friend because of potential problems.
