We are starting a new project in 7th grade science and it involves the body systems. The students have been given options and will be creating a model or designing a brochure that takes us on a trip through the body. This should be fun.
They have already been tasked with thinking critically and finding out how the different body systems work together. We have picked groups and chosen options. We begin on Thursday. Then next week we will have a couple of STAAR testing days and we will resume after that. Fridays are still science fair "work" days. This due date will run into the second week of April. Monday 23 Hook--Magic School Bus Tuesday--24 --flipclass, finish note foldables Reproductive system Wednesday--25 Vocab quiz, finish so what/intro statements, begin research Thursday--26 Grade note frames, research plan in groups Friday-27 -Science fair materials and procedures for sci fair will be due. The students have finished their research papers! They will have identified their variables and hypothesis. They will do their materials and procedures after spring break. We are building their presentation boards as we go. Or at least getting the items ready to print to place on the boards. This would be a great time for the students to begin their experiments-if they haven't already. They will need to be FINISHED with them by May 1st. We will be looking at data on our experiments in April and I will be showing them how to build graphs and get those ready for their boards. After spring break we will begin a new project in science on body systems. They will have 2 options. Build a model or develop a travel brochure for the body. I will be sending home a paper that explains both options. |
