We are super excited here at JMS to share the news that Google Classroom is now allowing parents the ability to access summaries of their students Google Classroom accounts. One of our math teachers, Mrs. Davidson, has made a video to help parents in signing up for their own GAFE account to access their students' summaries of their classes.
The beauty of it is that the parents choose the time and the amount of information that they receive about their students' activity in Google Classroom. They may choose daily summaries or weekly summaries to check on student work. Another thing that the teachers like is the fact that not all teachers have to invite the parents. It only requires one invitation from one teacher and all classrooms that the student is enrolled in will automatically be part of the summary. The most difficult task here will be securing parent emails to invite them.
A parent MUST be invited in order to sign up for Google Classroom. Parents who want to be invited will need to email one of the students' teachers and ask to be invited.
